The Design Architect of Avenel is Hugh Petter, a distinguished academic and prize-winning director of UK architectural practice, Robert Adam Architects. Robert Adam Architects are world leaders in progressive classical design, skilled in blending local tradition with the latest technology. This is one aspect which has certainly been achieved in the completion of Plot 1.

Hugh's designs of the Avenel houses reflect the distinctive Arts & Crafts style so prevalent within Kilmacolm. Each house is completely unique in design but it is clear that they all sit very comfortably together. Although of a classical design and traditional construction the houses are perfect for modern day living incorporating open plan family areas, modern kitchens, ensuite bathrooms and state of the art home automation systems.
