The Design Architect of Avenel is Hugh Petter, a distinguished academic and prize-winning director of UK architectural practice, Adam Architecture. Each Avenel house is of a unique design but Petter's Arts and Crafts exteriors are in a harmonious and Classical West of Scotland style, characterised by the use of natural slate roofs, cast iron guttering and white wet dash render exteriors.

Externally, the Avenel homes blend seamlessly with the established grand houses and large gardens for which Kilmacolm is renowned. Internally, however, they are designed for modern living with family friendly layouts enhanced with state of the art systems and technology.

Executive architects are Thomas Robinson Architects, a Glasgow based practice who bring extensive experience to the demanding task at Avenel of specifying, detailing and constructing houses of a quality rarely seen in modern homes.
